Delay is not denial

I was reminded recently whilst clearing out my room of what happened whilst undertaking my masters in Economics.

I remember failing my first term exams...badly! To give some context, the pass mark was 60, and all students were required to get at least 40 in any module. My average mark was 35.7!

I had been extremely unwell most of that term due to a severe crisis that required hospitalisation, and had been left playing catch-up (unsuccessfully) most of that term.

The university wrote to me requesting I immediately withdraw from the course. I wrote back requesting an allowance on the grounds of health issues, which was granted. It meant being able to continue on with my masters; however I would need to return the following year to resit the exams I failed. This implied graduating a full year after I was supposed to, which I ultimately did.

Despite how demoralising that time was, I share this to remind someone (myself included as I write this) that delay is not denial. He who has promised is faithful.

Keep going!
