But God.

I just remembered this situation but wanted to give glory to God and share an old testimony. A friend of mine was walking down the street one day and saw a piece of paper scrunched up on the floor. Ordinarily, he would have disregarded it (it probably just looked like rubbish on the floor) but he felt the Holy Spirit tell him to pick it up so he did. The paper had a message on it from a girl that had been trafficked and had the address of the house that she (and presumably other victims) had been forced to stay in. My friend was gobsmacked but took the information to the police for them to handle. I always think back to this testimony and remind myself of the fruits of obedience. Whilst I know that it may not always be so extreme, our obedience can sometimes be tied to other people's destinies! It's crucial that we listen to the Holy Spirit when He talks. You never know what is on the other side of that instruction.
