Generous pay rise

We have a pay review at work annually and the time was approaching to find out whether I would get an increase in salary and/or a bonus for my efforts during the previous working year. I'd worked really hard the previous year and really wanted a bonus as a reward for that. I prayed that God would grant me favour and give me a bonus. I felt like I deserved it and in addition to that, I had several financial obligations which a bonus could help some way towards relieving.

Some time passed and I found out that unfortunately, I didn't qualify for a bonus as, despite working very hard, I did not reach the target number of working hours which would allow me to be considered for a bonus. I was disappointed but was still trusting God to provide. I was still being considered for a pay rise after all. I was convicted that I would get a good pay rise (I actually had an idea of a figure in my head) and trusted God that he would meet that figure. However, when I had my meeting with my boss on my pay increase, I found out that I would be getting a salary which far exceeded my hopes and expectations (the final figure ended up being a 20% increase on my current salary!)! Praise God! My new salary also worked out to be better than receiving a bonus (given that a bonus is a one off payment whereas my salary is paid regularly).

I am still in awe of what an awesome God I serve and encourage you to seek His face and dream big with Him. God is a provider, God is faithful and God takes care of His children. May He meet you in your need and grant you the desires of your heart beyond your wildest imagination.
