God gave me Christian friends

I always say that God cares about the little and the large. This might not sound like the greatest miracle but it was surely an answered prayer which changed my life trajectory and one for which I am forever grateful.

I got saved when I was 18 years old. I had grown up in a Christian family and we had always attended church but I didn't have a personal relationship with God. When I got to 18, I came to know God for myself but I didn't have many Christian friends and I didn't really know where to start. My church didn't have many young people in it and I was leaving for university in a few months and had no guarantee that I would meet like-minded people. I prayed earnestly that God would connect me with great Christian friends who would walk alongside me with Him, would encourage me in difficult times and who would help me grow.

Our university had a Facebook group for the new starters and existing students so I joined this group. Scrolling through the members, I came across a girl who had the same surname as me. My surname is not incredibly common so I decided to message her and make a joke about it. Unbeknown to me, she was an existing student and a Christian who was very active in a great spirit-filled church in the university town. We got talking and once I started at university, I went along to her church with her and she introduced me to a number of her Christian friends who quickly became my friends. I experienced radical spiritual growth through those friends and through making that church my home. Years later, we are all still great friends and I have matured massively in my walk. Through these connections and my spiritual growth, I've also been able to feel confident for God to use me to bring others to Christ and help them to mature too. PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!
