My husband and I are currently living in Cancún, Mexico and are taking a training course at our church to qualify as missionaries so that soon we can be sent to an English-speaking country to start a church. In the meantime, we have to support ourselves financially in Cancún while training, so we are running an English Academy, through which we teach English as a foreign language to students hoping to learn.
Sometimes our students are very financially unstable meaning that they can be unreliable when it comes to paying the school fees (which is our income). Last month, they were particularly late and we got to a point were we did not have money at all and we were running out of food. My husband was at work, and I was at home with my son, and I didn't know what to do. To make matters worse, this situation had been happening for a while so I was a bit overwhelmed by it. I went to my bedroom on my knees and I started to pray and declare God's promises over our lives. I was also crying and asking God not to forsake us.
When I finished my prayer, I came out of my bedroom and suddenly someone had made a payment - an old student who we didn't expect to pay (it was a real miracle)!! Praise the Lord!
Psalm 37:25 New International Version (NIV)
25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
